“Favorite people (son Zack, husband Nate, son Theo) on a favorite trail (Skyline Divide in the Mount Baker Wilderness) in a favorite place (the Pacific Northwest mountains). This has been my desktop picture for 10 1/2 years. When I look at this photo, I can see the downhill slope and the never-ending mountain ranges to the left; the treeline and the 2-mile descent & the unpaved road back to civilization is to the right; and ahead the trail beckons “further up and further in”. And I am at peace.”
