WORSHIP TEAM

Worship Team Application

Welcome to the Worship Team Application page. We are eager to connect with you regarding the possibility of joining our worship team.

Here at La Sierra our vision is this: we gather weekly for worship with the Bible open to hear fresh words from ancient Sacred Stories, seeking always to be relevant, raw, and wrestling with our faith. Dependent on the Spirit, we strive to be a community of Jesus-followers who are authentic, transparent, inclusive, and compassionate.

Music plays an integral part towards embodying this vision. La Sierra has a long tradition of quality music and we strive for excellence as we represent God and our community to those who worship in person and online. As such, we have created the following protocol for evaluating musicianship and readiness to participate in the worship team.

Step 1 – Ability Evaluation: ability is the first criteria for doing the worship ministry, so we ask that you upload two videos of you playing/singing two worship songs demonstrating your skill level.

Step 2 – Music Director Meeting: once the music director has received your videos and evaluated them, the MD will set up an appointment with you to discuss the possibility of your involvement further, to share our worship ministry, vision and commitments. At this point the MD will share constructive feedback and determine whether or not you can join the team right away. If necessary, the MD will give practical feedback and guidance for steps to take to fulfill the criteria needed to be part of the team.

Step 3 – Scheduling: once you have completed the first two steps, we will begin to schedule you in the worship rotation.
